Marilyn Brock was born and raised in the lower mainland of British Columbia. She brings with her a 25 year background in accounting, management and consulting along with some years in the legal field. Prior to moving to Fernie, Marilyn contracted her services as a Senior Software consultant specializing in the implementation and training of Accpac accounting software.

After coming for a holiday and falling in love with Fernie, Marilyn along with her husband and two sons, now 16 and 19 relocated to Fernie in 2001. They soon found a typical home on a beautiful lot and began work on an extensive renovation. Marilyn also assisted the Fernie Chamber of Commerce and various local businesses with their accounting and bookkeeping needs.

The Brocks continued researching business opportunities for something new that they could bring to the city. In 2003 they opened the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Fernie’s historic downtown; four months later a second location at Fernie Alpine Resort. That year they received the 1st annual award of Entrepreneurs of the Year. The store is a success and has become an integral part of the downtown business community.
