Tammy was raised in Fernie and has seen the community transform from a coal mining town to a world class ski resort destination. In the early 90's she worked on a family project to build Island Lake Lodge, marketing it internationally and later worked as a Director of Elk Valley Tourism.
Tammy has continued to market her hometown & the surrounding areas, and from the tourism community she recognized how she could help residents and visitors with their real estate needs. The Fernie Real Estate Company celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and has grown to offer clients a one-stop shop. Tammy’s property management division continues to expand with the town helping absentee homeowners and investors take care of their real estate portfolio.
As an integral part of the town, Tammy has served as director with the Chamber of Commerce for 10 years, 4 of them as president, and has worked tirelessly to put Fernie in the global spotlight. Tammy was instrumental in bringing the Freestyle Skiing World Championship to town as well as the internationally acclaimed Transrockies mountain bike race.
As someone who appreciates the mountain fresh air, the spectacular scenery, and all of the fantastic outdoor activities available in the Elk Valley, Tammy works relentlessly to promote Fernie and to bring new development and projects to the area.
